The comprehensive degree program will qualify you as a hospital technician. This is why you are cut out for interdisciplinary work: In the Clinical Engineering Bachelor degree program, you will acquire technical know-how - adapted to the specialized needs of health institutes. The education also comprises basic medical and economic skills. These capabilities will facilitate definition, maintenance and advanced development of the technical infrastructure together with the specialist medical staff. Teamwork is important to you and a prerequisite for joint and successful implementation of new ideas and concepts. You enjoy working in a constantly developing environment and your focus remains on overall concepts.

Applicants may require legalization of documents from countries other than Austria in order for them to have the evidential value of domestic public documents. Information on the required legalizations can be found here in PDF format.
For documents that are neither in German nor English, a translation by a sworn and court-certified interpreter is required. Your original documents should have all the necessary legalization stamps before translation so that the stamps are also translated. The translation must be firmly attached to the original document or a legalized copy.
As part of your online application, upload scans of your original documents including all required legalization stamps. For documents not issued in German or English, scans of the corresponding translations must also be uploaded. The head of the study program decides on the equivalence of international (higher) education qualifications. Therefore, your documents can only be checked as part of the ongoing application process.

Your application is valid once you have completely uploaded the required documents. If you do not have all the documents at the time of your online application, please submit them to the secretary's office by email as soon as you receive them.
After completing your online application, you will receive an email confirmation with information on the next steps.
The admission procedure consists of a written test and an interview with the admission committee. The secretary's office will notify you of the date of the admission procedure.

We offer you an interdisciplinary degree program which spans two areas of growth - technology and health - perfectly preparing you for the practical world. Laboratory work offers you numerous opportunities of familiarizing yourself with the demands of your future career and of practicing concrete tasks. Interdisciplinary projects are part of our university's research strategy. As a student, you are part of the force driving interdisciplinary research where technology and health are overlapping. This in turn is useful in practice, helping you build on your acquired and scientifically assured knowledge in the field.
A range of interesting companies and cooperation partners are represented at our "Firmentag Technik" (Company day Technology) at the main FH Campus Wien. Utilize your time between courses to establish contacts for your professional career and to enter into discussions with potential employers. We will support you towards realizing your ideas for exciting projects and offer you a stage: We exhibit the best projects to a wide audience in our Campus Innovation Lab at Open House or at the BeSt trade fair.
Practical relevance is also guaranteed through our Campus Lecture evenings which are open to all and offer contributions by prominent experts.
The Clinical Engineering Bachelor degree program is Austria's first academic qualification in the coordination of technical systems in the field of healthcare. The mix of topics ranging from medical, electrical and installations technology via IT and building automation (including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitation) to medical basics, supplemented by project and process management skills, will be ideal for your wide range of opportunities in healthcare. Your extensive laboratory work during your studies will include concrete case studies which you may be faced with when practicing your profession. As the member a project team, you will be dealing with different tasks and problems in every semester.
You may in your team design the furnishings and technical supplies of a doctor's practice or a section in a hospital. After planning, you will support the building phase including the required electrical, sanitary, heating and air conditioning installation and also include the necessary IT systems. You will furthermore plan the optimal medical facilities to suit the requirements of the specialist medical staff. To ensure perfect operation of the technical infrastructure, you will design and successfully implement the service and maintenance structure. With the above know-how and your high level of quality and cost awareness you will, after graduation, be qualified for a wide range of responsibilities in the healthcare sector.
In the Clinical Engineering Bachelor degree program you will, in addition to comprehensive technical knowledge, also acquire basic know-how in the medical field and in process and project management.
