The construction industry is changing, and skills and knowledge transfer in the field of sustainable construction need to be promoted and expanded at an international level. In the project sus^cool, university education for students in the field of sustainable, high-quality construction is to be placed on a broad basis throughout Europe through transnational and transdisciplinary, practical learning approaches. The focus is on transcultural and transnational learning, a global understanding of the discipline for students and teachers and comprehensive specialist knowledge viewed from multiple international perspectives.
To this end, 3-week modules/workshops in English, each with 4-5 ECTS credits, will be set up for both Bachelor's and Master's students. At the end of the project, these will be integrated into the curricula of Architecture - Green Building and Civil Engineering and Construction Management as elective specialization modules.
The summer academy uses didactic methods such as problem-based learning and project exercises that create practical relevance in cooperation with specialized construction companies from the Vienna region. International and transdisciplinary cooperation and dialog is also achieved through e-learning tools and digital integration of international experts.
With this project, FH Campus Wien is further consolidating its role as a pioneer in the field of sustainable construction and promoting internationalization. The modules to be developed are aimed at European higher education institutions and vocational schools, in particular BSc/BA and MSc/MA students and teachers from the fields of architecture and civil engineering:
